Swim-A-ThonOn this day, your swimmer’s workout session will be the Swim-A-Thon. (There will not be a regular workout that day.) Swimmers wishing to participate will collect pledges from friends, family, and neighbors. The pledges will be based on the number of laps a swimmer thinks that he or she can swim during practice time. Older swimmers may continue swimming beyond their age group practice time, for as long as they last!
Pledge amounts will vary by swimmer.
For example, a swimmer who can swim 30 laps during his/her practice time may want to collect $1 per lap. A donor who pledges $1 per lap will owe $30 after the event ($1x30 laps = $30). A swimmer who can swim 100 laps may want to collect smaller pledges. If a donor would like to make a donation but does not want to pledge per lap, simply write the total donation in the "Total Paid" category.
After the event, the swimmer is responsible for collecting pledges based on the amount he or she swam. Laps will be counted by the swimmers. Adults will assist the younger swimmers with tracking laps. Pledges will be due one week after the event, on July 22nd. Donors can write checks to "Norwood Swim Club" or can contribute cash.
Why do we do this?
Norwood is your family’s home away from home in the summer. Because of YOUR donations and volunteer efforts, we have transformed our pool in these last few years. As a result, we are continuing to grow in spite of a crazy year! This year, we need you more than ever.
If your family is able, please consider donating to support Norwood Swim Club.
Our goal for the season is to raise $15,000. Any donations above $500 will be noted on a special plaque in the trophy case. This includes those families that raise $500+ during Swim-a-Thon!
The Swim-A-Thon will be a fun and competitive event with donuts for swimmers! Swimmers will receive the enthusiastic support of their coaches, and the admiration of their peers!
