Holidays are special in Chicago, and to make the 4th of July even more memorable, we are bringing back our holiday formal - Beach Prom!Ask that special coed partner to join you on the sandy 8m x 8m dance floor and put on your fanciest formal swimwear for Chicago's largest coed tournament of the year.
Going stag? No problem! We will have a individual blind draw going at the same time that will create additional teams for the afternoon coed B tournament. We can also find partners for players that want to play the Open, A, or BB divisions.
Entry Fee: $60/team, $30/person for the blind draw. Includes Lunch and Refreshments (Gatorade/water/soda). Payment options and tournament details will be made available after registration.
FORMAT RULES
All teams are expected to have basic experience playing beach doubles, and understand the rules around hand setting.
COED OPEN / A / BB / B
The first half of the day will be pool play, with each team playing a set of 2 games against 3 teams in their pool.
We will break for lunch once pool play is over, while the scores are being entered. All teams will make the afternoon tournament.
Teams will be ranked by both their wins/losses, as well as their point differential. Pool winners will get seeded first, followed by all non-pool winners.
Teams will then play a single elimination tournament in each division with the winners taking cash prizes and having their picture immortalized on the SwervCup!
COMBINED B PLAYOFFS
Coed B and the Individual Blind Draw teams will have separate pool play and then mix in together for the afternoon tournament.
Coed B will follow the same format as above, however the afternoon tournament will be mixed in with the results of pool play from the B Blind Draw.
BLIND DRAW
The first half of the day will be 4 games of single-gender pool play. Everyone will play with new partners and different opponents in every game.
We will break for lunch once pool play is over, while the scores are being entered. Everyone will be ranked by both their wins/losses, as well as their point differential.
The men and women who share the same rank from pool play will be partners in the Coed half of the tournament. (Ie- #1 Man plays with #1 Woman, #2 Man plays with #2 Woman, etc.)
All players with a partner will then play a single elimination tournament comprised of the teams formed from the blind draw and the coed B teams.
