Join us for our first book club event here at Sweetspire! We'll be reading and discussing the classic novel The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers. Nate Steele, who runs our little library, will be leading a discussion on this novel. When Carson was only 23 she published this amazing work that explores themes of loneliness, societal expectations, and explores a series of relationships of folks who happen to find themselves sharing the same space in a cafe. It's a compelling work that asks its audience to examine themselves and what we seek in our social and personal interactions.
We've brought several copies of the book into our own little library here at Sweetspire, so you can come borrow it and read it, whether or not you can come to the discussion.
