About this Event
Brace yourself. Especially if you love a scone and a cuppa. We’re heading to Whitley Bay to Emma Carlton’s patisserie shop. Emma is an internationally renowned, award-winning pastry chef and in her thirty-year career has collected culinary experiences, special ingredients and THE BEST stories. She once made Kylie a birthday cake, was awarded three gold stars at The Great Taste Awards at Fortnum & Mason as a newcomer (which was deemed exceptional) and supplied Waitrose and the Coop with her famous Light as a Feather Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Having baked and cooked for Lords, Presidents and pop stars, she’s now gonna impart her knowledge to the fortunate few who manage to nab a ticket for this one. This special evening includes Emma’s culinary life story as well as an interactive tutorial as the queen of cakes shows us how to make the humble yet most favourable light and fluffy sweet scone, along with homemade jam. Afterwards, she’ll brew a huge pot of tea in the cosy shop and we’ll get to taste the delicacies.
Tickets include a cheeseboard, 2-3 glasses of wine/non-alcoholic beverage, scone and homemade jam accompanied by a glass of bubbles/cup of tea. As the shop is small, we can only accommodate a small group of people, so you’re gonna need to be on it if you don’t want to be disappointed. If you do manage to bagsy a ticket, we ask you to please be there for 6.30pm prompt so we can get going. If you can’t make it, even if it’s last minute, please let us know so we can offer up your ticket to someone else. We envision a huge waiting list for this one, so if you’re on it, be prepared to come along at the 11th hour.

Our meet-ups are inclusive and supportive spaces and we welcome anyone who’s creative (in whatever form that takes) to join us. We also recognise that our male allies can support our cause further by hearing the thoughts and opinions voiced at our get-togethers. We only ask that our guests respect the inclusive atmosphere and continue to engage in discussion and idea generation for the promotion and support of equal opportunities for female identifying creatives.
