Sweet Science: A Winter STEM WorkshopPresented by Illinois Extension – Coles County 4-H
Celebrate the season with science you can snack on! In this hands-on workshop, youth ages 8–18 will explore the sweet side of STEM through two festive activities: baking oatmeal drop cookies and engineering gingerbread houses designed to withstand real-world forces. Participants will work in teams, test their creations, and reflect on concepts like chemistry, physics, and structural design—all in a fun, seasonal setting. This event is open to the community; you do not need to be a 4-H member to attend.

Time: 10 AM - 11:30 AM
Location: 4-H Center; Coles Fairgrounds
Cost: $9 (this will help cover the cost of supplies)
Registration Deadline: Need a minimum of 5 people registered by December 5th.
