THEY’RE SWIMMING AGAIN!Winter days are drab and dreary, so why not spend some time at the beach?! Join the gals of the Pemberton College Champion swim team at their annual beach coast reunion when the Huber Opera House in Hicksville presents The Sweet Delilah Swim Club. The story of five unforgettable women who set aside a long weekend every August to meet at the same beach cottage to catch up, laugh, and meddle in each other's lives, it’s a hilarious and touching comedy about friendship that lasts forever.
Nothing bonds a group together more than being mates on a winning team. The five delightful women of “The Sweet Delilah Swim Club” are no exception with their battle cry of “The faster we swim, the sooner we win”! You won’t want to miss getting to know these gals: Sheree, always the team captain - played by Deb Kolb; cynical, wise-cracking Dinah as portrayed by Colleen Richter; Zonya Battershell’s delightful and delightfully vain character, Lexie; Cori Ehrhart as the ditzy, perky Jeri Neal; and Pam Diehl hobbling along as Vernadette - a hard luck case covered by a dark cloud.
The show takes place in August, in a beach house on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. A span of thirty-three years requires some age-adjusting on the part of the actors, who, being seasoned performers, are up to the challenge. Expert guidance for the play is provided by Director David Snyder and Co-Producers Pamela Diehl and Colleen Richter.
Reprising one of the first shows ever on the Huber stage after being saved from the wrecking ball, The Sweet Delilah Swim Club will be performed on February 14, 15, 16, 2025. Friday and Saturday performances will be preceded by a buffet supper provided by Grant’s Catering. What a great way to spend time with your Valentine!
Be sure to mark your calendars. Tickets are on sale NOW at huberoperahouse.org or by calling 419-542-9553. Don’t miss the Sweet Delilahs as they team up once again!
