Learn to knit this beautiful lace sweater in a workshop setting.
The sweater is knit all in one piece from SIDE TO SIDE (!), beginning at the wrist end of one sleeve and finishing at the other. A beautiful lace pattern and plenty of positive ease make this a fascinating project.
How the workshop works:
Students will sign up for the workshop, but can for the most part attend whichever sessions they choose. They can show up for just 1 or two of the classes, or all of the sessions.
*Attendance at the first class is recommended.*
During the first class we will walk through the pattern, sizing, gauge, and the construction of the sweater.
After the first class, students will knit at their own pace. There isn’t a schedule to follow, just bring your knitting, and your questions, and we all learn together.
Class Cost: $10 for each session attended.
Materials to purchase before class:
Pattern: The Baleen sweater pattern by: Sylvia McFadden can be purchased and downloaded from Ravelry, or purchased and printed at Casting On.
Yarn: 950-2110 yds of any worsted weight yarn that results in a gauge of 17 sts/4” in the lace pattern. Casting On has many beautiful options in stock and ready.
Needles:
US 7 circular needles 40” long.
US 7 DPNs, or circular needles for working magic loop on the sleeves
**Note: You may need different sizes to achieve the required gauge. (We’ll work on swatching and talk much more about gauge in class.)
