Formed by bassplayer Pete Jeavons in 2017, the Swan River Ramblers initially performed only as a roving, acoustic quartet aboard the iconic Paddlesteamer Decoy as it cruised the Swan River during WA’s warmer months. The band has now also made a few appearances on land too, adding a drummer to their ranks and performing at venues such as The Duke of George, Lyric’s Underground, The Ellington Jazz Club, The Navy Club (Jazz Fremantle) and also at The York Festival (2022). The Ramblers are delighted that Jazz Fremantle has now found a new home at The Honky Tonk Blues Bar and they are looking forward to making their debut appearance on that stage, on Sunday October 26. Led by Pete Jeavons (double bass) the band also features regular Adam Hall (trumpet/vocals), Ray Walker (guitar/vocals), Lachie Glover (saxophone) and Pete Evans (drums).
The band performs music from a wide spectrum of styles, drawing repertoire from jazz & swing standards, trad. jazz classics, bebop, blues, New Orleans style music, gypsy jazz and more. Combining a wealth of performance experience, with instrumental virtuosity and a keen sense of spontaneity the Swan River Ramblers will deliver a great afternoon of musical entertainment that is guaranteed to please.
