The SDD is a single track heavy, self supported ultra endurance ride through the white mountains of New Hampshire. The course connects three local mountain bike trail Networks; Franconia area trails, Parker mountain and Bethlehem trails association. With 150 and 80 mile options. The 80 is feasible to do in a day while the 150 is a bikepacking route. Even with the “shorter” mileage the terrain is rough and slow in spots. Last year we had terrible weather and no finishers of the 150, and four finishers of the 80, times where 10:37, 11:40, 12:16 and 13:37. Both options have over 40 miles of single track and a bunch of rough double track, with nice gravel and some pavement. This is a free event, we just ask that you consider a donation to one of the trail networks that we pass through if you have the means to do so. There is a 50 rider cap for this event and there will be a sign up link posted soon.
This is self supported and self navigating event. You will be sent a gps file to follow on your gps unit. Self supported meaning that riders must complete the course under their own power without help from others and can only use amenities that are public and available for all riders. So markets and restaurants for food are allowed. If you plan to sleep on your route, campgrounds, hotels or hostels are all allowed. There will also be an option for riders of the 150 to sign up for trackleaders using their own gps tracking device or using a rental. Last years link posted below for example.
