SVARA is pleased to offer FREE to the public Amateur Radio Technician class. This class will take place over 3 nights from 6pm until 10pm, October 8th, October 10th, and October 15th, with testing taking place after a review session on October 15th.The Technician License is the beginners class or the first stepping stone to the two higher license classes (General and Extra). This Technician course and license testing is FREE and open to anyone interested in obtaining a license.
The course will cover the materials from the 2022-2026 Technician Class License Preparation book , and all class materials will be available for classroom use, although feel free to purchase your own for home study.
Please just bring an eagerness to learn and maybe a pencil and paper and a calculator. The material covers Rules and Regulations, Ohms Law, Electrical Circuits, Operating Procedures, and essential Safety rules.

People use ham radio to talk across town, around the world, or even into space, all without the Internet or cell phones. It's fun, social, educational, and can be a lifeline during times of need.

What's an FRN? Well, that's a FCC Registration Number. It's FREE and you'll need to get one before the class.

All classes are 4 hours long with 10-15 minute breaks as needed.
There will be multiple instructors for different chapters of this course.
Classrooms will be limited to a maximum size of 20 students per class, so please register as early as possible
