Photographer Jon Crispin has been photographing at the Willard Asylum (later the Willard Psychiatric Hospital) in upstate New York since the 1980s. His photographs of suitcases belonging to Willard residents offer an extremely rare and important look at the institutional lives of patients with mental illness.
