About this Event

INVITATION TO THE OXFORD BROOKES BUSINESS SCHOOL 12TH HRM RESEARCH AND ALUMNI CONFERENCE - SATURDAY 2 NOVEMBER 2024, HEADINGTON CAMPUS, OXFORD BROOKES UNIVERSITY 10am-3.30pm

Keynote address 1: Winning strategies? HRM Insights from Sports Tournaments on Incentives, Talent Attraction, and Sustainable Performance - Enja Marie Herdejürgen, Paderborn University, Germany

Keynote address 2: Pathways to organisational inclusion: experiences of recent graduates when hybrid working - Dr Sylwia Ciuk, Oxford Brookes Business School, UK

Discussion panel chaired by Dr Saranzaya Manalsuren, London South Bank Business School, UK

As organisations navigate global and local challenges in increasingly volatile environments, the ethical dimensions of Human Resource Management (HRM) have come into sharper focus. The rise of Sustainable HRM reflects a growing recognition of how HRM practices affect, as well as are affected by broader social issues. This conference is dedicated to exploring the theme both practically and theoretically with an interpretation of sustainability as an HRM for the common good. Specifically, it considers the challenges and opportunities of incentive schemes and proposes a nuanced approach that is more likely to contribute to sustainable HRM practices. It also looks at the experiences of young graduates in hybrid work environments and explores ways in which HRM practices in this domain can achieve inclusion in the workplace. The conference includes two academic keynotes, presentations from current postgraduate HRM students, and a panel discussion on the conference theme involving a number of participants from academia, industry and the CIPD, on how sustainable HRM practices can be aligned with the broader goal of advancing the common good.

This is a free event - lunch will be provided.
