Overview
Do you want to know more on the different renewable heat systems used to heat buildings? Are you looking at changing your current method of fueling heat in the workplace?
This accredited course will help you understand all about sustainable construction, from the roles and responsibilities of individuals as part of the design process, to management of both materials and the site, making construction sites more sustainable.
Outcomes
During this unit, learners will investigate and develop an understanding of the following elements.
The Roles of Different Stakeholders in Sustainable Construction
- Different stakeholders that contribute to sustainable design prior to construction.
- Responsibilities of different stakeholders as part of the design process.
Environmental Impact of Current Methods of Construction
- Range of pollutants.
- Non-sustainable construction techniques and their alternatives.
- Environmentally damaging construction techniques and how they harm the environment.
- Techniques which are currently unavoidable and suggested alternatives.
Environmental Impact of Construction Materials
- Damaging methods of extracting construction materials from the environment.
- Construction materials that are not sustainable (and more sustainable alternatives).
- Effective site management and how they can make construction sites more sustainable.
Upon completion of the course, you will receive an e-certificate (a paper certificate can be sent out upon request) that will enhance your CV and support your career progression.
