Peace Corps Week (celebrating Peace Corps' birthday) is February 23 through March 1. To mark the occasion and celebrate the Peace Corps, we, the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Yakima Valley, are hosting an event at Single Hill Brewing. The speaker will be Chris Cassidy, a returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Kenya with extensive experience in international agriculture development and renewable energy. He has served the United States Government, the United Nations, the Cooperative Bank, and the World Bank in technical management capacities in Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America. Please mark your calendars for Monday, February 24. The doors open at 6:30 and there will be some social time until 7 pm at which time the presentation will begin. This will last about 30-40 minutes followed by Q&A. Afterward there will be social time and other RPCVs there to answer questions before and after the talk and to regale those interested with stories about their service.
This event is in pursuit of the Peace Corps' Third Goal: to help promote a better understanding of other people on the part of Americans. Please invite anyone you think would be interested.
We hope to see you there.
