Sustainability in Hairdressing Workshop | Lymington

Hi! I'm Steph. I've been researching the hairdressing industry for over five years trying to understand how salons, barbershops, freelance businesses and co-working spaces can reduce, reuse and recycle what they use. Essentially, that's your industry in the circular economy! This two-part session is great because I get to share some key findings from my research while also turning your experiences and opinions into new evidence.

This is the simple bit: you talk, I listen, and we capture what real salon life looks like.

Together with other hairdressing professionals, we’ll discuss how materials are used in and what helps or hinders reducing, reusing, and recycling on busy days. I’ll also share a snapshot of early survey results, and you’ll have the chance to weigh in, challenge them, and add the context that numbers can’t show. With your consent, the conversation will be audio-recorded and used as research data.

No presentations. No “right answers”. Just honest experiences and your professional judgement.

Lunch is provided and it’s a chance to chat, reset, and fill up.

After lunch, we’ll do a fun masterclass on eco labels and product claims. The aim is not to turn you into a label expert. It’s to help you feel confident spotting what’s meaningful, what’s vague, and what questions to ask before you spend money or make promises to clients. We then apply the same logic to salon marketing.

You’ll leave with a simple way to assess labels fast, plus clearer language for talking about what you do!
