Sustainability & Fashion: Crash Course on Upcycling!
Makerspace is excited to welcome fashion savy kids (13 and older) to come join us for a fun and informative two day event where you'll learn all about upcycling in the fashion industry! Students will vist FabScrap, a textile recycling center, and take part in a 2 hour sorting session, which will allow them to choose up to 5lbs of fabric and hardware. Students will then get hands-on experience with upcycling techniques both by hand and with a sewing machine to create one of a kind garments. This event is perfect for teens interested in fashion, sustainability, or just looking to try something new! Parents and loved ones are welcomed to join us for a presentation of the students projects on Sunday the 18th!
