Canadian singer-songwriter Julie Doiron brings her unmistakable voice and raw, intimate songwriting back to the stage with I Thought Of You, her first solo album in nearly a decade. Known for her stripped-down sound and honest lyricism, Doiron crafts songs that feel both personal and universal—delivering warmth, grit, and vulnerability in equal measure. A founding member of Eric’s Trip (the first Canadian band signed to Sub Pop Records), Doiron’s storied career includes collaborations with Gord Downie, Okkervil River, and Mount Eerie, as well as releases under Julie and The Wrong Guys.Recorded in a cabin with longtime friends and collaborators, I Thought Of You marks both a return and a renewal for Doiron. From the hopeful strains of “You Gave Me The Key” to the reflective ballad “Darkness To Light,” her latest work captures the familiar honesty fans cherish, while opening new doors.
The SURROUND series makes space for the quiet magic of listening together. Seated onstage around the artist as sunset fills our window wall, audiences experience music as a conversation—intimate, unguarded, and resonant.
