For the second time, a festival of Slavic music for children is being held in Guildford. Young (under 18) amateur vocalists, violinists, pianists, choirs and music theatre groups are invited to participate. The Festival strives to share and popularise Slavic music to the wide UK audience primarily in Surrey. The First Festival took place in 2024 and was met with great enthusiasm in the area.
Winners of the Contest will get small cash prizes. Despite this being a Contest, the organisers believe that everyone should be celebrated and encouraged for their effort to prepare for the event, to become musicians in the long run - so there will be souvenir awards for everyone.
The judges (TBC):
Piano - Eralys Fernandez (UK) and Brigitte Subkov (UK)
Vocal soloists, ensembles and choirs - Polina Shepherd (UK)
Violin - Elena Savchenko (Italy)
The contest starts for vocalists, pianists and violinists simultaneously in different venues of the school at 2pm (start time may change slightly due to the number of participants).
Music theatre groups and theatre plays are admitted directly to the final after selection by video recordings.
