Are you ready for this? This is going to be an epic weekend of creative play, nurturing your inner child, or your adult self who yearns for a creative play getaway without the mess! Its even for those of you who think yourself ‘not creative’, because absolutely zero artistic talent or creative ability is necessary to have a giant amount of fun and take home some beautiful creations - all nicely contained in a handmade journal.We’ll begin Friday with a 3 hour gathering using the SoulCollage® process to create a card to accompany you thru the weekend. If you don’t have a SoulCollage® deck no worries, the SoulCollage® component of this weekend can be done completely separate of a SoulCollage® practice. SoulCollage® is a simple, intuitive, and fun collage process. We use images from magazines and cut and glue them to create a card - you’ll choose between the standard 5x8 SoulCollage® deck card size or a 6” circular card - or maybe make one of each!
On Saturday morning we will design the receptacle - your handmade journal - that your creations will find a home in. You will choose 12, 24, or 36 pages to suit your desires. We will spend most of the day experimenting with several different creative play practices using a variety of tools, and papers. The pieces we create will dry overnight and be ready to become the pages of your handmade journal or be used to decorate your journal. It will be so much fun I’m smiling as I type this, imagining each of you engaged in joy filled creative play.
On Sunday morning we will stitch together our journal pages to create signatures, bind them with ribbons to create your journal, embellish with beads, and use our creations to decorate our journal. We’ll also use a couple more creative play processes on Sunday. I will guide you through several ways to incorporate your beautiful creations as pockets, flaps, coins etc. We'll end our time together sharing our journals and with a SoulCollage® activity. You will leave with a beautiful circular handmade journal and SoulCollage® cards, but most importantly with a full heart and a happy spirit. Come out and play!
