Before coming out:
- Bring reusable water bottle, reusable gloves (gardening or mechanic), and sun protection.
- Avoid bringing plastic bottles, bags of chips, and other single use plastic products.
- I recommend wearing a hat, sunglasses, shorts, and flip flops.
- Dress for the beach
Arriving:
- Parking will be free inside Bolsa Chica. Tell the gate attendant you are there for the Surfrider cleanup
- Check in at the Surfrider popup tent
- We have bags
Cleaning up:
- You can scavenge the shoreline, beach, parking lot, etc.
- Do NOT collect seaweed, wood, rocks, stones, seashells by the seashore sold by Sally. Let us know if you find any 'sleeping' animals for Parks and Rec. to scoop up.
- Bring us back your trash once your bag is full, time runs out, or you must leave. We will weigh the trash, record the weight, then sort out the trash for items to be recycled
- For those that need community service hours, it is at this point that you can get a form stating you attended the cleanup.
