Surf Coaching - Beginners

***Get Social and Hang Loose ***

Stay for an extra hour (until 11:30am), surf and hang out with your coach and our group of local surfers who meet every week. More water time. More fun!!! Sometimes the whole group has lunch after surfing if most are up for it. Connect, socialize and make new friendships with your new surf buddies.

***Recommended Skill Level ***

- None to very little surf experience

- None to very little paddling skills

(Must be able to swim)

- Inefficient popup such as using knee or one-two step

- Can't get a long ride all the way in

- Still struggling with wave reading, popup timing and nosediving

- Still working on accomplishing riding 90% of all waves

Coaching will be held in the inside surfing broken waves (white foam). We might paddle out if conditions allow (forecast in the 1-3 foot range)

***Important***

This group session is NOT advisable for individuals who:

- have very little to no ocean experience

- are intimidated or not comfortable in an ocean environment

- are not confident in their swimming skills

- have not been active in many years

IMPORTANT: Having the right size board for this session is where you do not want to cut corners. Not having the right board for you size will only cause frustration and hinder any progress. If you are 6' or taller and/or over 170 lbs you will need a 9' board. Or, if you are not a strong paddler, ocean inclined and haven't been very active or athletic lately a bigger board is a MUST as you will NOT BE ABLE TO STAND UP with a smaller board unless you are extremely athletic
