Supporting Women in Skilled Trades through Allyship
The Women in Skilled Trades (WIST) Retention Program invites you to an interactive workshop designed to spark meaningful conversations and build practical skills around allyship in the skilled trades.

👥 Audience: Apprentices, faculty, and all supporters in the skilled trades
🎤 Facilitator: Ben Hart, Instructor, School of Transportation
What to Expect:
- Explore current initiatives promoting equity in the trades
- Understand gender-based inequities and their impact
- Define allyship and why it matters
- Practice applying allyship in real-life scenarios
- Learn how bystander intervention fosters safer, more supportive environments
Through discussion, reflection, and scenario-based learning, you’ll leave with practical strategies to become a stronger ally and champion of equity in your workplace.
