About this Event
Free event for supervisors in adult social care who are newly recruited or working towards a supervisory qualification as part of their registration requirement.
This workforce development day aims to bring supervisors who work in adult social care together, whether newly recruited to the role or working towards a qualification. Our data and feedback suggest that there are a number of supervisors seeking some guidance and support as they navigate their new role or qualification. The event will look at the different aspects of a supervisor’s role, including the support and supervision of colleagues.
Throughout the day we will invite you to share your experiences and examples from your practice in a safe, supportive and confidential space. You will explore the structure and process of supervision, why it takes place and what constitutes a high-quality supervision experience. You will have time to consider your own leadership and how this supports and informs your supervision approach. You will look at why it’s important that supervisors collaborate and take time to build relationships, and how supervision can support trauma informed practice and supporting people’s wellbeing. We will invite you to identify what is missing to support you as a supervisor, with a view to informing the development of future supervision resources.
The event will be delivered in partnership with the Leading to Change team at NHS Education for Scotland.
The face-to-face events will run from 10am to 3pm. We will provide lunch and refreshments.
