Speaker 1 - Dr Jane Herd
Info: Dr Jane Herd will discuss whole-system models of support, highlighting how stability for children in care is achieved when the system and its practitioners are contained, reflective, and able to maintain the capacity to think in challenging circumstances. Drawing on three projects β a reflective practice group with a local authority childrenβs social care team, the Mulberry Bush Therapeutic Community, and a current project on whole-system, therapeutically informed foster care in a small private provider β they will share practical insights and lessons learned. The focus will primarily be on the latter, exploring how therapeutic principles can be integrated into fostering to create environments where children can settle, thrive, and experience long-term stability.
