About this Event
The training is delivered in a friendly, open and safe environment by experienced trainers who have expertise and experience of working with refugees and asylum-seeking individuals. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions.
The learning outcomes will include:
- Understanding the Asylum and Refugee process
- Understand the broader landscape of migration internationally
- Explore push factors for forcibly displaced people
- Define key terminology associated with forcibly displaced people, asylum and refugee status
- Explore myths and facts around the asylum process
- Understanding the support available to and the challenges facing young asylum-seeking individuals in Wales
- Culturally inclusive support for young asylum-seeking individuals
- Awareness of the challenges after gaining refugee status for young people
- An understanding of Nation of Sanctuary
- Life after decisions - each person's experice is different

The course is being delivered by EYST - who are sector leading in this practice. Please be aware this course is NOT accredited but can offer you new skills to implement in practice.
