About this Event
Volunteering offers asylum seekers a chance to integrate into their local community, enhance their English skills, combat isolation, and engage in meaningful activities.
In this short focused session, we are pleased to have Mike Harle from * International Care Network give an overview of the value of volunteering for asylum seekers and what organisations can do to encourgae and enable more asylum seekers to volunteer for them.
The aim of the session is to:
- Raise awareness of the significance of volunteering for asylum seekers.
- Clarify misconceptions regarding asylum seekers' eligibility to volunteer.
- Explore strategies for organisations to support asylum seekers in volunteering.
- Discuss common barriers faced by asylum seekers in accessing volunteer roles and potential solutions.
- Conclude with a Q&A session.
This session is open to all of our CAN members.
