Following the death of a 22 year old woman in Iran, Mahsa Amini, at the hands of the 'Morality Pollice' for not covering up her hair properly, the women of Iran have taken to streets to demand their freedom.

Women in Iran are forced to abide by mandatory veiling laws and can face detention, harassment and torture for not observing the dress code adequately.

They also face discriminatory laws in the areas of marriage, divorce, employment and inheritance.

70% of Iran's population is under the age of 30 and 60% of its university students are women. These young, educated women demand and deserve more.

90% of the population of 80+ million are asking for a secular, democratic government and they are being shot, imprisoned, raped, executed for it.

Western governments continue to appease the mullahs, wag a finger, offer a statement of condemnation but that's it. They need to stop allowing the companies of the IRGC to operate in Western countries, funneling funds to pay security forces who quash protests and commit human rights abuses.

Let us as women everywhere rise up with them and bring forth a brighter future.
