This group is primarily for support of parents and caregivers of children and adults with developmental disabilities in and near Auburn, NY, but is open to everyone who cares for or about people with any type of disability. This group is in its developing stages, and we are building a family-governed network that aims to provide resources, peer support, and advocacy. We work to connect families to formal services and build community in our area of Auburn NY and surrounding towns. We will meet in Westminster Presbyterian on Saturday, February 14th, at 2:30PM. Parking is available in the lot near the church, on the street, or in the city garage. The meeting will be held in the building between the church and the YMCA. Light refreshments and coffee will be available! We'll even have Valentines for parents/caregivers in attendance! Children are welcome to come. We have a volunteer, who will supervise children in a room next to our meeting room.
There will be time during the meeting for parents/caregivers to share their experiences/stories (if they choose) and ask questions of other parents. Meetings are held the second Saturday of every month.
