About this Event
— an acclaimed museum dedicated to celebrating and preserving Savannah, Ga.’s maritime legacy — is delighted to host Supper at Sea, a one-night benefit dinner and silent auction curated by Katherine Sandoz celebrating Savannah’s finest visual and culinary artists on Friday, March 14 at 6 p.m. All proceeds from this special evening will support education programs at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum.
Curated by artist and collaborative designer Katherine Sandoz, the original artwork created specifically for Supper at Sea honors the artisanal skills once found on seafaring vessels, including basketry, knot-tying, net and sail making, pottery, carving, whittling and illustration.
The event is made possible by the 2024-2025 Artists’ Residency Sponsor, Judge Realty, celebrating their 20th year in business in 2025, with additional generous support from Nita Ann and Chris Klein and the Flatbush Foundation.
Illuminated by the glow of the full moon, guests will savor a delicious al fresco dinner prepared by Chef “Chino” Hathcock and Chef Sam Herndon, known for their innovative, coastal-inspired dishes crafted with locally sourced ingredients. Hathcock and Herndon’s expertly curated menu will pay homage to the sea with inventive creations that reimagine maritime culinary traditions and create novel food experiences. Paired with handcrafted beverages and desserts inspired by Savannah’s coastal heritage, each bite and sip will serve as a tribute to the flavors and stories of the ocean.
Immediately following the maritime dinner, guests will be invited to finalize their bids on their favorite ceramic vessels, objects and fibers-based masterpieces. Proceeds will support the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum’s free educational programs, which last year shared Savannah’s treasured maritime history with 2,500 youth and families.
TICKETS: Supper at Sea is an exclusive, one-night-only benefit event with limited seating. Tickets are currently available at shipsofthesea.org/supperatsea.
While dinner seating is limited, the silent auction is available to preview and bid at an open house at Ships of the Sea on Friday, March 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. Tickets and auction details are available at shipsofthesea.org/supperatsea.
