About this Event
Join a group of 6-12 Community Leaders for an in-person training and networking opportunity that will support you to become a more effective supervisor. The Supervisor Roundtable kicks off on Wednesday, Sept . 25th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. PT. We will meet one Wednesday per month. The dates are 9/25, 10/23, 11/20 and 12/18.
This interactive and collaborative series of meetings will encourage participants to explore new leadership styles and share best practices as they learn to improve management of staff/volunteer teams.
In this series supervisors will:
- Practice and become more effective in foundational coaching skills of giving & receiving feedback, inquiry skills, and engaged listening.
- Uncover methods to motivate your team and increase productivity.
- Learn techniques that help a team feel supported and foster trust.
- Explore and learn new strategies for effective culturally responsive supervision, i.e. supervising across diverse race, class, gender, ability staff teams.
- Build a strong community of peers to celebrate strengths and troubleshoot challenges with.
The Supervisor Roundtable will be co-facilitated by Mike Beebe & Edna Sadberry. Edna and Mike are longtime work colleagues, friends, and co-facilitators who are skilled at building strong and thoughtful multiracial cohorts of leaders in the nonprofit, and public sector. Past participants have expressed their appreciation for the open, honest talk about Edna's experience as a black woman and Mike's experience as a white man committed to social justice. They bring a consciousness about their identities into the training that helps group members navigate their challenges more effectively. Join Mike & Edna as they explore what it means to supervise across race, class, gender, and other differences.
