Day 1 β Thursday
π Fishing: 7:00am β 7:00pm
βοΈ Weigh Station: 3:00pm β 5:00pm
β’ Fish caught after the weigh station closes may be weighed on Day 2, provided the angler has notified the organisers and the weighmaster has sighted the fish.

π Launching & Safety
β’ Launching from 6:45am daily (two tractors operating)
β’ Competition commencement/postponement announced at 6:30am daily
β’ VHF Channel 3 β Call sign: βSPORTS RADIOβ
π¨ All boats must:
β’ Have a working VHF radio
β’ Call in boat name & crew numbers after leaving the bay
β’ Call back in once safely returned
β Failure to do so = disqualification

π Entry Requirements
β’ Must be a member of a NZSFC affiliated club or the Anglers & Casters Fishing Association
β’ Non-affiliated anglers must join WSFC for the duration of the tournament
β $20 temporary membership (valid for competition only)
π¦ Juniors
β’ Under 17 years at conclusion of tournament
β’ Juniors may enter the main competition but must pay the main entry fee

π£ Fishing Rules (Key Points)
β’ Maximum line weight: 37kg
β’ Rod & reel only (electric reels allowed)
β’ No firearms, nets, longlines, or non-sport fishing gear
β’ Braid allowed (may not be eligible for NZSFC records)
π Fishing Area
β’ North: Blackhead
β’ South: Honeycomb Rock
β’ East: 25 nautical miles
β’ Boats must remain within radio contact
β’ One base competition β all boats must launch and return to Castlepoint Bay

π« No non-registered anglers on competition boats
(licensed charter skippers exempt)

β’ Kingfish must be 75cm or longer
β’ Photo required showing tag + length
β’ Tag card must be presented to the weigh station on the day caught

β’ Only your single heaviest fish per species counts
β’ All fish must meet MPI size & bag limits
β’ Scrutineering may occur at any time
β’ Failure to comply = disqualification
β’ Cheating = lifetime ban from WSFC tournaments
β’ No mammal products may be used for bait or burley
