This concert features joyous works for chorus and orchestra, including 8 brass members performing a large fanfare for brass by Italian composer Cesare Bendinelli.Our Discovery Series composer is Cuban Esteban Salas, one of the most prominent musicians during the colonial period in Cuba, and one of the most important musicians in Cuban musical history. He served almost 40 years as the Music Director of the Cathedral Santiago de Cuba in Havanna, where he composed many choral works, especially in the late Renaissance/early Baroque style.
