SUNY Oswego's Living Writers Series Presents: Daniel Handler, AKA Lemony Snicket

Get ready for an afternoon filled with wit, charm, and literary delight as Daniel Handler, famously known as Lemony Snicket, takes the stage at SUNY Oswego's Living Writers Series. This in-person event promises to be a treat, so don't miss the chance to hear from the mastermind behind A Series of Unfortunate Events and other beloved works.

(Books will be on sale at the event, thanks to our friends at The River's End Bookstore.)

’s wildly popular books include A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Basic Eight, Why We Broke Up, We Are Pirates, and others. Handler has received commissions from the San Francisco Symphony, Berkeley Repertory Theater and Royal Shakespeare Company, and collaborated with artist Maira Kalman on a series of books for the Museum of Modern Art in New York. His books have sold more than 70 million copies worldwide, and been adapted for film, stage and television. He’s earned the Peabody and Writers Guild of America awards. Handler has also collaborated with illustrator Lisa Brown on several books and one son.

The Department of English and Creative Writing has brought hundreds of writers into the campus community, from Nobel, Pulitzer and Emmy winners to new voices. The Living Writers Series is supported by the Department of English and Creative Writing and ARTSwego, and made possible by the Student Arts Fee: Visit www.oswego.edu/arts for more arts programming. Organizers are also deeply grateful to the Oswego Reading Initiative, Latino and Latin American Studies program, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, SUNY PRODiG, The River’s End Bookstore and Subnivean.
