Sunset Challenge! Tule Elk Overlook
Scale the canyon with us for magnificent views of Wind Wolves Preserve and beyond! NOTE: The hike to the Tule Elk Overlook is a strenuous out-and-back route (approximately 2.5 miles) with a steep incline for the first mile; recommended for experienced hikers only, ages 16 and up.
Event is free, but participants must register as space is limited.
Please plan to arrive at the CROSSING parking lot by 2:00 pm for check-in.
Reservations open December 21, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.
Event is subject to cancellation due to unsafe weather conditions.

About Us
Wind Wolves Preserve is a 93,000-acre nature preserve located approximately 30 miles south of Bakersfield, and is owned and operated by The Wildlands Conservancy (TWC). The preserve is open to the public daily and visitors can enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping, or attend a staff led program, all free of charge.
TWC is a private, non-profit organization that operates more than 25 preserves along the west coast. Our mission is "To preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the earth and to provide programs so that children may know the wonder and joy of nature."
