Dear Sunnyslope,
The Sunnyslope Rock Garden is up for possible historic status with the City of Phoenix. It is one of two rock gardens that remain here in Phoenix. Marion Blake has been the care taker since 1978 when she purchased the property. Since then she has been trying for 47 years for historic status. We are so close to getting it but need your help. Please submit a public comment in favor of the rock garden getting historic status next Monday, June 17th at 4:30 pm for the City of Phoenix Historic Preservation Commission meeting. You can join in three different ways from calling in, virtually and in person. You can submit a public comment regarding any of the items on the agenda. I know most of you saw the Sunnyslope Rock Garden story with ABC 15 and have memories of the garden. You can make a public comment regarding it which is Agenda Item #4. It would be great to have the support of Sunnyslope at the meeting. You can email the office your comment in support of getting it historic status. Below is a copy of the agenda. Thank you for all the support and love you have shared with us! We deeply appreciate it!
