Fabricated by the same team behind the NCSML Orloj, the sundial will be installed on 16th Avenue side of the Buresh Immigration Clock Tower and unveiled Friday, September 19 at 5 p.m. Gilded with 24-karat gold, as is the case of the astrolabe, our horological device will tell the time of day when direct sunlight shines by the apparent position of the Sun in the sky. It will consist of a dial and a gnomon, which will cast a shadow onto the dial. Sundials belong among the earliest types of timekeeping devices; they were popular for centuries and continue to be important means functionally and decoratively. Placed in important locations, they are still relevant, full of historical, educational and cultural significance. Let us celebrate together the unveiling of the new NCSML Sundial at the coming BrewNost festival held on September 19.https://ncsml.org/event/sundial-reveal/
