On Sunday, October 12, join us for a conversation and selected poetic readings from Bobby Thompson. As with all Sundays@4 presentations, this will be free and open to the public.About the poet: A native of Baton Rouge, Robert (Bobby) Thompson graduated high school from Southern Lab school. Afterward, he spent four years in the Marine Corps. He’s a Vietnam war veteran, and he retired from the postal service after 25 years. During that time, Thompson volunteered at several social justice and community organizations, as Dialogue on Race Louisiana, the Unitarian Church of BR, Reading Friend, Humanity Amped, and Together Baton Rouge. This lifetime of experience has shaped how he sees the world around him, and how he interacts with the slow march of time. He has been married to my wife, MiJa, for 50 years and maintains that they are still friends, even after all this time. He has 4 kids and 3 grandkids. A Living legacy that he draws inspiration from.
