About this Event
France didn’t invent wine—but it invented the way we talk about it. In this class, Jonathan Ogden explores how France shaped the modern wine world, from terroir and blending to the idea that place itself can be protected and perfected.
We’ll travel across France—from crisp coastal whites to structured reds and sparkling classics—discovering how geography, climate, and tradition became an architectural blueprint for wine. You’ll learn key regions, foundational styles, and how to “read” French wine with confidence—without memorizing maps or jargon.
During this two-hour class, we’ll taste ten French wines, thoughtfully selected to illustrate France’s influence and range, including Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Beaujolais, and beyond. Class attendees will have access to preferred pricing on featured bottles following the tasting.
Please note: The Vintage on Harrison is not open on Sundays. The space will be open exclusively for this class. Light snacks will be provided; this is a tasting and educational experience rather than a full food service.
Expect great wines, clear explanations, and stories that connect what’s in the glass to the places—and ideas—behind it.
Relaxed, educational, and designed to make French wine finally make sense.
