9:30am - 10:30am
Please meet at the Solstice Steps!
There's something uniquely healing about moving your body in fresh air with the lake stretching out beside you, and Sunday Strong is designed to give you exactly that.
Join Amanda every Sunday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. for a one-hour outdoor movement class held at the beautiful Lakewood Park on the shores of Lake Erie, blending fascia release, tai chi, ab work, stretching, and yoga into one rejuvenating experience. No prior experience is necessary. Just bring your mat, your water bottle, and yourself.
Sunday Strong is a donation-based class β free to attend, with donations gratefully accepted. Give what you can, give what you wish, or simply show up. Everyone is welcome.
Why Movement Matters
Regular exercise does far more than tone muscles. It reduces inflammation, balances hormones, supports mental clarity, and boosts energy at the cellular level. Even a single session of intentional movement can lower cortisol, elevate mood, and improve sleep quality. When we move consistently and mindfully, we build resilience in our bodies and in our lives.
The Power of Fascia Release
Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds and supports every muscle, organ, and structure in your body. When it becomes tight or restricted from stress, injury, poor posture, or prolonged sitting it can cause pain, stiffness, and reduced circulation. Fascia release techniques gently free these restrictions, improving mobility, reducing chronic tension, and restoring the body's natural flow. Many women are surprised by how profoundly this work affects not just their physical comfort, but their emotional wellbeing too.
Tai Chi and the Lymphatic System
Tai chi's slow, deliberate movements are among the most underrated tools in wellness. Unlike the cardiovascular system, the lymphatic system has no pump of its own, it relies entirely on movement and muscle contraction to circulate. Tai chi's rhythmic flow activates this circulation, helping the body clear toxins, reduce inflammation, and support immune function. Research also consistently shows that tai chi improves balance, coordination, and proprioception making it especially valuable as we age and want to stay active and injury-free.
Yoga, Stretching, and Core Work
Yoga and deep stretching lengthen the muscles, decompress the spine, and calm the nervous system. Combined with focused abdominal work, they create a practice that strengthens from the inside out by building the core stability that supports everything from posture to pelvic floor health. This is whole-body wellness, not just exercise.
The Healing Power of Being Outdoors
Science confirms what we already feel intuitively: nature heals. Time outdoors reduces stress hormones, lowers blood pressure, and enhances mood. Practicing movement in green space especially near water amplifies every benefit in Sunday Strong. Lakewood Park is one of the most stunning settings in Northeast Ohio, with sweeping views of Lake Erie, fresh breeze off the water, and the kind of natural beauty that reminds you why it's good to be alive.
Start your Sunday strong.
Your body will thank you.
