About this Event

Raised in 2 countries with deep international roots & a restless curiosity for sound, Canadian-born Windmills began creating music in 2011. As a performer he’s toured across North America, performing at major music festivals of thousands (Rifflandia, Shambhala, Canadian Music Week, Khatsahlano, Island Time) to intimate rooms, creating a name for himself & his trademark sound. That sound, known as Moody Indie Swoon Pop”, has become something meticulously cultivated & obsessed over, with careful thought & attention to where it may lead. A constant challenge to evolve, to keep moving.

& the work speaks for itself.

Featured in films & documentaries, television & ad placements globally since 2013. As a composer, Windmills has written original music for short films, theatre, & online series. With comparisons to Jon Hopkins, Ólafur Arnalds, Patrick Watson & Johan Johannson, Windmills has proven he can’t be classified by any one genre or label.

Over the last decade Windmills has released 4 full-length LP’s & 2 EP’s, culminating with 2022’s “what need is there to weep?”. A full-length album unlike anything he had created before. The response was deafening, immediately selling out the first vinyl pressing (100),
with records shipped to over 30 locations globally in 8 countries across 5 continents.
The songs landing on major playlists & licensed for incredible projects internationally.

After 2 years of performing over 60+ shows, Windmills released his first new single & inaugural “1 song a month for the rest of 2024” (via Sounds Suspicious) campaign, beginning in June with the release of “As You Like It,” a summer wave of infectious hooks & Windmills’ trademark lyrical wit.

& as the seasons changed, so did Windmills’ release strategy, shifting tonally as winter approached. The final 6 songs of 2024, an introspective collection that tackles ego, love, self-doubt, & the pursuit of healing. ”Q U I E T T R A U M A S” come for us all.

The next chapter?

As always, is still being written… as windmills keep moving.
