December 21st is the shortest day of our year. Pagans have celebrated Solstice for eons. Solstice comes from two Latin words “sol” meaning “sun” and “sistere” meaning day. Thus, “Solstice” means the Day of the sun. We will acknowledge the darkness we face, and, as our December theme “Choosing Hope” suggests, we will recognize the return of light. Susan Chambers will lead the service, with the help of some of our pagan members, and our choir will sing, under the guidance of our new Choir Director.
