Each child (ages 2-5) will begin their Sunday School experience with a warm greeting. They will be offered a battery-operated candle and will carry their light into the Godly Play atrium. As they enter, they will hear "Peace be with you." The class will then explore the Godly Play lesson through storytelling and wooden manipulatives. The teacher will use wondering words to encourage sharing as the class reflects on the story. The creative expression time will include activities like painting, clay work, paper art, gardening, and music.The class supports the values of compassion, kindness, empathy, and the beautiful grace of God's unconditional love. We meet each child where they are in their faith journey.
Preregistration isn't necessary, but please sign your child in at the Greeter’s Counter in the lobby. You may request a tour of the classrooms during sign-in to know where to pick up your child. The children will start worship in the sanctuary with their parents. After about 10 minutes, they'll join their Sunday School teachers who will escort them to their classrooms. Parents should pick up their children from the classrooms after the service.
The class meets every Sunday at 10 AM in both room #9 and the NSUMC art studio.
