The journey of the Church of God began long before we were born. The social situations, the reaction to the times, and a move of Holy Spirit birthed our church. In order to fully understand who we are, it is wise to know our history and our story. Join us this fall as we study the roots of our Movement seeking to understand the journey and history which leads us to our unique place in the larger Church. We will seek to understand our heritage as a Holiness Church and how this can prepare us to impact the future. We will also see how the story of Pennway Church of God fits within this larger story.

In his book The Good and Beautiful God, James Bryan Smith helps us know how to live in relationship with others as apprentices of Jesus. They do not sometimes tell the truth, sometimes live sacrificially, or sometimes forgive. There are myriad opportunities for us to impact the world in which we live." Yet, we've often got it wrong, tending to emphasize personal faith over social justice or vice versa. In this class, you will learn how to bring spiritual formation and community engagement together.
