ABOUT THE BOOK
Fifteen years after Emily James laid her husband to rest, U.S. Marshals arrive with a devastating truth: he's alive, and wanted for murder. As new enemies close in, Emily and her teenage son are thrust into the crossfire of a man who has become a cold, calculating predator willing to sacrifice his own family to stay ahead of the law.
Desperate and out of options, Emily turns to U.S. Deputy Marshal Alexander Wong for protection. Alex is steady, relentless, and everything she shouldn't want while her world is falling apart. But danger has a way of stripping life to its truth, and the connection between them sparks into something neither of them can ignore.
As the case unravels and deadly secrets come to light, Emily must confront the man she once loved...and decide whether she can trust Alex with her heart, even as he risks everything to save her and her son.
