Begin the new year by diving into the exciting world of glass art! Our featured artists for the month of January are Jason Chakravarty and Jennifer Caldwell- here to show off their talent with a joint exhibition, artist lectures, and hot glass demonstrations.Splitting his time between Arizona and Washington, Jason Chakravarty is a mixed-media artist known for his narrative sculptures. He began incorporating neon into his glass art while studying at Arizona State University, eventually earning his MFA from California State University, Fullerton. His work, which frequently uses cast glass and neon, draws on personal observations of human relationships and social networking.
A Kingston, Washington-based artist, Jennifer Caldwell began working with glass in 2000 in Hawaii and later honed her skills in lampworking in Italy with master Cesare Toffolo. Inspired by the ocean and its inherent paradoxes, her work uses humor and whimsy to explore lifeβs experiences and capture the fluid movement of sea life in glass. Her award-winning art is featured in numerous museum collections and has been exhibited internationally.
