The Jazz Apples are one of the Midland’s most in-demand Jazz acts. Known for their smooth harmonies, their playful re-interpretations of Jazz classics, and their ever-creative improvisations.
Reviewing the duo’s previous performance at Temperance, Hot Music Live’s Andy Holdcroft praised Fi’s ‘excellent technique’ and ‘dynamic sensibilities’, matched by Alex’s ‘skilled yet tasteful’ accompaniment. ‘They have an empathetic understanding,’ writes Holdcroft, ‘not just in the interplay between voice & piano but also in their several duets & this was another element in the playfulness’.
The joyful jazz duo have performed for clients ranging from the Royal Shakespeare Company to the BBC, and those eagle-eyed amongst you may even have spotted the trio performing the musical interludes of this year’s BBC Bargain Hunt Christmas Special episodes (still available on iPlayer!).
