Nicholas Ryder is a Massachusetts based Saxophonist, composer, bandleader, and educator who has studied at The Hartt School of Music as well as The New England Conservatory of Music. He has studied with some of the most world renowned musicians in the world such as Javon Jackson, Jerry Bergonzi, Donny McCaslin, and Melissa Aldana just to name a few. He now resides in Saugus MA where he continues to write and play his own music with fellow sought after NEC alumni Leo Weisskoff on Bass and Caleb Montague on drums. Their music is Hard Bop influenced with emphasis on Art Blakey and the Jazz messengers style as well as ideas from Sonny Rollins trio recordings and John Coltrane’s quartet.
