🎺 Meet Kenneth Brown II
Trumpeter, composer, arranger, educator, and recording artist, Kenneth hails from Inglewood and brings a deep commitment to community and craft. A Morehouse alum with a Master’s in Music from UCLA, he has studied with Melvin Jones, Jens Lindemann, Dan Rosenboom, and Keyon Harrold. His performance credits include world-class stages such as Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, and Royce Hall — and artists including John Legend, Kelly Rowland, and Snoop Dogg.

Throughout his three-month residency, Kenneth is bringing in different musicians to keep the sound fresh and imaginative! Meet the artists joining him on November 23rd:
🎹 Veritus Miller
An emerging pianist, composer, and arranger from Los Angeles, Veritus made his 2024 debut with Days With You Are Beautiful, praised by KCRW’s Marion Hodges as a “frenetic yet tightly paced epic.” He has collaborated with Kamasi Washington, Stevie Wonder, Jaz Karis, and Lil John Roberts, and was featured in Shae Universe’s 2024 Tiny Desk concert. His music uplifts themes of love, positivity, and truth while carving a fresh path in today’s jazz landscape.
🎻🎸 Quinn Simms
An LA-based bassist and composer, Quinn studies at the USC Thornton School of Music. He has been recognized by the Stanford Jazz Institute and Angel City Jazz Festival, and performs across jazz, classical, pop, and R&B settings. His growing versatility and musicality make him a standout emerging artist.
🥁 Skylar Allingham
A rising drummer and educator from Riverside, CA, Skylar earned a scholarship to the CSUN Jazz program in 2017 and has studied with masters including Jeff Hamilton, Gene Coye, and Kevin Kanner. He has performed with artists such as Sabrina Claudio, No Suits, and Ando San, and continues to appear with various bands throughout Southern California.
