Hello fellow hikers. Doing a quick hike this Sunday!September 7th.
Hill Canyon trail (off of Santa Rosa Rd in Camarillo). We will be going up Elliot Mountain via the Outlaw trail loop. Beautiful views from the top.
Meeting at 0645 and heading out at 0700 in order to beat the heat and be home early enough to still have my morning coffee. The hike has about 800ish feet of elevation gain and very small section that requires a bit of a scramble, nothing technical though. Hiking boots or trail runners are preferred for this short section. The trail is roughly 5.3 miles. For the avid hikers, 2 hours is a good estimate, but everyone is welcome. Don't feel that you will be holding anyone back. If you are a fast hiker, carry a heavier pack. It's great training.
If you are not familiar with the area l have attached a map that shows the parking area in red. If the lot is full you can park across the street and just walk over. There is normally plenty of parking this early in the morning. Just look for the old guy next to a gray Toyota Tundra. š
