"Mean Girls" (2024) is a musical comedy film directed by Arturo Perez Jr. and Samantha Jayne, based on the 2017 stage musical, which in turn was adapted from Tina Fey's 2004 film. The story follows 16-year-old Cady Heron (Angourie Rice), who moves from Africa to suburban Illinois and enters public school for the first time. Navigating the complex social hierarchy, she befriends Janis and Damian, who introduce her to the school's cliques, including the popular "Plastics" led by Regina George. As Cady becomes entangled with the Plastics, she struggles to maintain her own identity amidst high school drama. The film features a screenplay by Tina Fey and music by Jeff Richmond.
